SPOKANE, Wash – Several Washingtonians will walk the Bloomsday course to raise money for medically fragile foster children.
This is the second year they’ve done this. They walk the course over and over again from midnight until noon on Sunday.
All of the money raised goes to the Embrace Washington Halo Program.
Last year, they walked the course seven times and raised $7,000.
So far this year they’ve raised around $4,000, and as of Saturday afternoon, 16 Cents, 3 Shoes & 5 Sock Furniture Store pledged $50 a mile.
“We met a little boy who has to be in a wheelchair and needs assistance seven days a week. Can you imagine being a foster parent and intentionally taking in a little kid that needs health care, assistance, and help seven days a week, all day long,” Mike Ellis, who walked the event last year and plans to this year, said.
