SPOKANE, Wash. — A wanted felon and a 17-year-old were arrested for several gun related charges with the help from Spokane Regional Air Support Unit (SRASU) Air 1.

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) confirmed SRASU began tracking the suspects vehicle around 6:05 p.m. on March 28.

SRASU was assisting the Spokane Police Department (SPD) Violent Crimes Task Force (VCTF), SWAT Team members, and U.S. Marshals Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force (PNVOTF) in their search for 27-year-old Keantray D. Bryant-Muellner.

SCSO said Air 1 noticed the car in the parking lot of the Spokane Valley Mall and provided live updates to grounded law enforcement to try and apprehend the suspect.

The suspect traveled from East Indiana Avenue and north on Pines to the Maverick Gas Station, then returned to North Pines and continued west on I-90 before taking the Sprague Avenue exit. He then drove west on Sprague Avenue, turning south, west on East Hartson Avenue, and south on Freya Street.

At 55th Avenue, the suspect vehicle turned west before parking in the 3300 block of East 55th on Spokane’s South Hill.

Around 7 p.m. all ground units were in position, blocking any avenues of escape. Law enforcement moved in with their emergency lights on and SCSO said Bryant-Muellner jumped out of the truck and ran toward an apartment building.

Not knowing if the suspect was armed, an SPD K9 was released, and as Officers closed in, Bryant-Muellner surrendered. SCSO said the K9 was recalled before making contact.

Bryant-Muellner was transported and booked into the Spokane County Jail on his warrants for four counts of first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, fourth-degree DV assault and a Washington State Department of Corrections Escape Community Custody Hold.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on a charge of second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and was booked into the Spokane County Juvenile Detention Center.
