SPOKANE, Wash. – Fire danger and activity will decrease in Washington and northern Idaho after a relatively quiet fire season.
The National Interagency Fire Center released a wildland fire potential forecast for September through December that shows a decrease for Washington and northern Idaho.
The region was in a high threat during Aug. but has been gradually decreasing as time goes on.
The NTFC said that a reason for the quiet season has to do with the rain and cold front that swept the area mid-August.
Along with the rain NFTC said that Washington saw lower than average temperatures for Aug.
