ROSEDALE, Wash. – The Washington Corrections Center for Women received five chocolate lab puppies this week as a part of the Prison Pet Partnership.
The partnership, which is based out of Gig Harbor an serves several correctional institutions, allows incarcerated people to train puppies to become service dogs.
“It’s a win-win-win situation, benefiting the dogs, their future recipients, and the incarcerated trainers,” the Washington State Department of Corrections said via social media.
Several programs allowing people function throughout the northwest, most of which assist in the development of disability or emotional support dogs.
