Washington State Patrol trooper killed in line of duty added to ‘wall of heroes’

SPOKANE, Wash. – Washington State Patrol Trooper Christopher Gadd who was hit and killed in the line of duty had his legacy remembered as he was added to the ‘wall of heroes’.

Gadd’s family and fellow troopers gathered on Thursday where his wife Cammryn and his 2-year-old daughter unveiled his plaque and remembered his life.

The plaque reading:

“Born in Pasco, Trooper Gadd grew up in Covington and was a certified EMT. From a family of service, at his passing, his father was a fellow WSP Trooper, and his sister served as a Trooper in Texas. He left behind a loving wife, a young daughter, and a grieving community of family and friends. He was 27.”

The agency’s heroes wall features 33 other officers who died in the line of duty as they aim to honor their service and dedication.

Gadd served for the Washington State Patrol for two and a half years, starting Sept. 2021.

The wooden plaque will feature a photo of Gadd and a summary of his life along with a framed stained-glass piece of art and flags.

“Chris’s passing is a devastating loss to his family – a family who knows all too well the risks of public service but still has offered that service with unquestioned valor and now, unfathomable sacrifice,” said WSP Chief John R. Batiste.
