Washington state presidential primary ends Tuesday

SPOKANE, Wash. – Washington state is set to conclude the race for the presidential primary election on Tuesday at 8 p.m. for both Republican and Democratic delegates.

The race began three weeks ago when ballots were mailed out to Washington residents.

Voters have diverse options beyond front-runners President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, to choose from.

On the Republican side, Chris Christie, Ron DeSantis, and Nikki Haley appear alongside the former President’s name. For the Democrats, current President Joe Biden is featured with Marianne Williamson and Dean Philips.

Despite several candidates withdrawing their campaigns, their names will still appear as options on the ballot.

Washington is not the only state holding the primary election on Tuesday, as Hawaii, Georgia, and Mississippi will also follow suit.

According to Washington state law, voters must specify their preferred political party on the ballot for it to be considered valid.

The primary in Washington is conducted by mail, and ballots must be dropped or postmarked by 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
