OLYMPIA, Wash.- The 2024 supplemental transportation budget, which includes several million in funding for projects in eastern Washington, has passed both chambers of the State Legislature.

The State Senate approved the policy on Feb. 27.

Senator Mike Padden (R), who represents the Spokane Valley, cast the sole vote against the transportation bill.

A flurry of amendments to the bill were passed by the Legislature during Senate floor debate on Tuesday. Most of the passed amendments clarified language in the engrossed substitute version of the bill.

Now that the policy has cleared the legislature, it is likely to be signed by Governor Jay Inslee (D) in the coming weeks.
