ALBION, Wash. – Whitman fire crews are on the scene of a wildfire just outside of Albion, and nearby residents are advised to evacuate.
According to a Facebook post from the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office, the fire is burning outside of Albion but is not currently threatening the town itself. Several nearby roads are closed, and residents in the immediate area should be prepared to evacuate if necessary. Fire crews are battling the blaze amid dry conditions and high winds.
Whitman deputies advise people to avoid the area until the fire is under control.
