SPOKANE, Wash. — Whitworth University has launched the new “Pines Press,” a publication imprint under the Washington State University Press.

The Washington State University Press is a member of the Association of University Presses. The collaboration between WSU and Whitworth will help produce published manuscripts for both schools.

“I’m thrilled to embark on this partnership with Washington State University Press,” Amanda Clark said. “To be a part of upholding rigorous academic publishing at a university press that supports scholarship is a longtime dream. As someone who spends a great deal of time in the field of books and libraries, it’s exciting to be a part of supporting some of the best parts of higher education – knowledge creation and distribution, the sharing of wisdom.”

Whitworth’s Pines Press publishes well-written, researched books that pertain to history, environment, people, culture and heritage of the greater Northwest region.

Pines Press will also have a wide range of genres and seeks to “support a culture of the liberal arts as a deep-rooted knowledge base.”

For more information about the Pines Press, go to the Whitworth library website.
