Wildfire near Stanley causes evacuation advisories

STANLEY, Idaho – Two wildfires burned near the small town of Stanley Friday night.

According to Boise National Forest, Zone 2 “be set” evacuations have been ordered for the fire near Stanley, with other areas falling under lower evacuation orders.

“This closure includes both sides of Hwy. 21 going north along Canyon Creek, and along the south side of highway as it continues from Banner Summit towards Stanley. This new closure becomes effective Aug. 22 at 6 p.m,” the forest service said.

The area that is currently being burned is under an immediate evacuation order. The full map with evacuation details from the Custer County Sheriff’s Office is attached below.
