SPOKANE, Wash. — A woman is behind bars after she admitted to .
According to court documents, Alyssa Bradburn called 911 around 12:52 a.m., saying that she just shot and killed her dad.
Bradburn told police her dad was on his way home from Hawaii, and when he walked through the front doors, she shot him three times. When police arrived on the scene, Bradburn sat on the porch and handed them a notebook.
“My journal has my confession and everything in it,” Bradburn told police.
Court documents said Bradburn was planning to kill her dad for about three weeks, starting to document her thoughts about four days before the shooting.
She said her dad would beat her and her dogs, shooting her dogs with a BB gun in the backyard. She also told police her dad raped her when she was a baby.
Bradburn said she understood she would go to jail and wanted to make this process easy.
“It’s the result, I killed someone, so you go to jail for that, he wasn’t trying to kill me at the time,” Bradburn said.
Bradburn was booked into the Spokane County Jail on one charge of first-degree murder with a bond of $1,000,000.
