Woman arrested for allegedly attempting to set stairway and Spokane Valley policeman on fire

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – A woman was arrested and appeared in court for allegedly throwing rocks at an apartment, attempting to set fire to its stairs, and trying to set a Spokane Valley policeman on fire.

According to court documents, on July 4 at about 8:48 a.m., a witness reported seeing a woman, later identified as Lisa Dick, throwing rocks at the building and breaking windows at an apartment on East Mansfield Avenue. The witness immediately dialed 911 to report the incident.

Court documents state that around 8:50 a.m., deputies from the Spokane Valley Police Department arrived on the scene. They observed Dick attempting to ignite the stairway of the apartment building.

Spokane Valley police then moved to disarm and arrest Dick as she tried to set the stairway on fire. A struggle ensued, during which Dick allegedly attempted to use a lighter to set the officers on fire. Police managed to subdue and arrest her.

Dick was transported to Spokane County Jail. Police established probable cause to charge Dick with third-degree malicious mischief.
