SPOKANE, Wash. — A woman was arrested for DUI after she hit a parked car and drove away in north Spokane. The woman was released from jail the next day.

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) responded to the report of a woman who appeared intoxicated and hit a parked car near the 11100 block of North Waikiki Road. The caller told SCSO the woman drove away in a red Scion.

SCSO found the driver in a drive through near the 400 block of East Hastings Road. SCSO said when leaving the drive through, the woman hit and ran over the curb, then swiped a large shrub with her car.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop where they immediately noticed signs of intoxication, along with damage to the car that matched the description of the hit-and-run.

Deputies developed probable cause to arrest 34-year-old Galina P. Lapik for DUI and hit-and-run.

During a search, deputies found three full-shot bottles of vodka on Kapik. Breath samples showed her BAC was .309. SCSO also learned she had a prior DUI conviction from 2019.

Lapik was booked into the Spokane County Jail, where she was released on her own recognizance the following day.
