SPOKANE, Wash. – The victim of Tuesday morning’s scooter accident has been identified.
According to the Spokane County Medical Examiner, the victim was Danielle Littrell, aged 23. Her death was determined to be caused by blunt force injuries to the head and torso resulting from the accident.
, firefighters were called to a crash just before 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday July 2.
In a release, a spokesperson for the Spokane Police Department said a woman who had been riding a scooter was killed in the crash.
According to police, the woman was riding her scooter north on Lincoln towards 4th Avenue. At the same intersection, a man driving eastbound on 4th stopped at the stop sign.
According to police, his vehicle and the woman riding the scooter crashed when the driver pulled into the intersection.
People in the area performed CPR on the victim until first responders could take over.
Police closed Lincoln Street for hours to investigate what led to the deadly collision. While the investigation wasn’t concluded by Tuesday afternoon, police said the driver was likely not impaired.
An online fundraiser has been set up to help bring Danielle home to her family and to help with burial costs.
