SPOKANE, Wash. — Due to the increased need for refugee resettlement areas in the city, World Relief Spokane opened a new location in Spokane Valley.

World Relief Spokane announced that it met its goal of increasing resettlement numbers by 40% from the previous fiscal year. The new location will provide these services to 700 refugees resettled in Spokane.

World Relief Spokane said refugees come from 26 countries and 28 nationalities, including Syria, Afghanistan and Ukraine.

“In the last few years, more refugees than ever have come to Spokane seeking safe haven and a home where they can rebuild their lives and our community has welcomed them with open arms,” said Christi Armstrong, the Executive Director of World Relief Spokane. “This new office location is an opportunity to continue this spirit of welcome and expand our ability in Spokane to serve even more refugees and immigrants in our community.”

The new location will also allow for expanding community partnership opportunities.
