OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Washington State Department of Transportation shared information on stripe trucks on Thursday.

Stripe trucks are the vehicles responsible for delineating the lanes on Washington roads. According to WSDOT, a stripe truck was just put back on the road and will begin painting roads across the Evergreen State starting next week.

“After our stripe was hit sustaining significant damage 2 years ago, for the first time yesterday we were back on the road calibrating the paint guns and are gearing up to begin striping roads next week,” WSDOT said.

The trucks will utilize warmer temperatures to retouch old paint. Roadways must be at least 50 degrees and dry to stripe due to department regulations.
