WSP uses a watchful eye out for distracted drivers

SPOKANE, Wash. — April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month, and North Idaho and Washington officers are stepping up patrol.

The Washington State Patrol (WSP) and Idaho State Police (ISP) are increasing patrols through April 10th.

WSP released its numbers on reckless drivers. In 2024, over 27,000 drivers were ticketed for aggressive driving and over 7,200 for distracted driving.

Distracted drivers in Idaho and Washington can get fined around $130.
