WSU police officer who shot at student has been identified

PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State University Police Officer who shot at a student that police said charged at him has been identified.

The incident happened March 27, on the 4th floor of Global Scholars residence hall around 11:30 a.m.

Chief of Police Gary Jenkins said the officer identified in the incident is Dillon Tiedeman-Mueller.

Mueller has been an officer with WSU Police for over 2 years and also served as a Latah County Sheriff’s Deputy for over 3 years.

While the use of force is investigated, Mueller will remain on administrative leave per protocol.
