PULLMAN, Wash. – Winnie the dachshund was suffering from a life-threatening stomach issue, but was restored to health after receiving care at Washington State University’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital.

According to WSU, Winnie had lost an alarming amount of weight, causing her owner to take the dog on a 16-hour-long drive to Pullman’s veterinary hospital.

Tests revealed that Winnie had ulcers and needed a feeding tube alongside medication to help her regain weight.

After undergoing her prescribed treatment regime, she has regained weight. Her owners had already lost their beloved German shepherd Barry months earlier, and are grateful that Winnie is recovering from her medical scare.
