YAKIMA, Wash. – As temperatures drop in Washington, the Yakima Fire Department is reminding parents about car seat safety during the colder months.
The department posted an image on Facebook showing how to properly and safely bundle up children for car rides.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration advises against letting children ride in puffy coats with a loose-fitting harness. Instead, they recommend using a lightweight jacket that allows the harness to fit snugly.
